AEF Announces 2024 Adopt A Classroom Project

The Alexandria Education Foundation’s (AEF) goal is to connect businesses, individuals, and groups to specific classrooms to help provide needed supplies outside of the school’s typical budget.  Supporters can “adopt” a classroom (Early Education, Elementary, Middle School or High School) by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Alexandria Education Foundation for the needed classroom supplies. Each classroom is eligible to receive up to $250. Whether a donor chooses to contribute towards a classroom, fully fund one, or adopt multiple, donations of any amount are appreciated.

Teachers often spend hundreds of dollars to provide supplies for classroom use.  From basics such as permanent markers, pencils, notebooks and snacks for elementary children, to the more specialised items like sheet music, science kits, and dry ice; our teachers spend their own money to help ensure a quality educational experience.

Businesses, individuals, parents, grandparents or groups can choose to adopt a specific classroom at a specific school or make a donation to AEF and allow AEF to choose a classroom from those that apply for help. AEF will then inform the donor of the classroom they have adopted. The business or individual donor will receive a Certificate of Adoption that identifies the classroom they have adopted. 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the participating classrooms!

The Adopt a Classroom Form can be downloaded, or contributions given at alexeducationfoundation.org. Checks can be made out to AEF and sent to: AEF, PO Box 308, Alexandria MN 56308. Please indicate in the memo line which teacher you’d like to adopt if you have a preference.

The Adopt a Classroom Campaign runs through October 18th, 2024.

Alexandria Area High School Acting and Improvisation students are shown in their Commedia dell'arte masks, which they made with materials purchased with the Alexandria Education Foundation Adopt A Classroom Grant. Their lesson was part of a History of Theatre unit. Students created masks and wrote mini-Commedia dell'arte plays, which they presented to their peers.
