Teachers often spend hundreds of dollars to provide supplies for classroom use. From basics such as permanent markers, notebooks and clean clothes for children, to the more specialized items like sheet music, science kits, and dry ice; our teachers spend their own money to help ensure a quality educational experience.
The Alexandria Education Foundation’s (AEF) goal is to connect businesses, individuals, and groups to specific teachers to help provide needed supplies. Supporters can “adopt” a classroom by making a tax-deductible contribution to AEF. Each teacher is eligible to receive up to $250. Whether you choose to contribute towards one classroom, or are able to adopt multiple, donations of any amount are appreciated!
Donors can choose to adopt a specific classroom at a specific school or allow AEF to choose a classroom randomly. AEF will then inform the donor of the classroom they have adopted. The business or individual donor will receive a Certificate of Adoption that identifies the classroom they have adopted. 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the participating classrooms.
AEF strives to include all classrooms in District 206. If the classroom you choose to adopt is already funded, we may redirect your contribution to another classroom.
